I am lucky enough to be spending the rest of my life with a truly amazing man that I couldn't possible thank enough for everything that he does. And lately he has done some pretty big things. My birthday usually ends up being a bit of a mess so he has planned way in advance to try to prevent that. He bought us and my dad tickets to go to an Orioles game up in Baltimore. If that isn't enough to get you going the seats are 2nd row along the 3rd base line. How freaking exciting is that! So we are making a weekend of it, seeing some family and hitting DC while there. Even though the weekend was "supposed to be" about me a little plotting with my sister let me set something up for him to, a good ole fashion Maryland crab boil. He was introduced to crabs a little big back and liked them Maryland is known for its blue crabs and baseball so it seems like a perfect way to top it off.
Brandon also managed to slash most of our remaining wedding payments and play off the hotel for the honeymoon. I am very lucky to have someone that was so willing to go above and beyond to cover our wedding costs. He even indulged me in purchasing a few things that we weren't really planning on and I would have normally dropped the cash on. But it is such a great feeling to have all of the major things paid off.
We were able to cross quite a few wedding things off the list the past couple weekends. Our clothes are pretty much done, my dress has been ordered and he only needs to order his pants now. The bridesmaids just need shoes and the groomsmen are done. We picked up or ordered a lot of the smaller stuff that we needed as well as a good bit of decorating stuff. So the crafting has started. A new list will have to be made soon.
We celebrated our 1 month anniversary this weekend with a nice bottle of wine and some bowling, something we haven't done in a while. Minus the mass amount of idiots we ran into it was still fun. We managed to keep with tradition and each won a game. We are now planning what to do for our big anniversary next month.
Today my work was called off due to snow and ice so we are getting an extra day to hang out, at least until he has to go in. So we have everything to make pancakes with our new perfect pancake maker, movies and popcorn and stuff to cook dinner together if he doesn't have to go in. But if he does there will still be dinner made.
Girl, Boy, and Dog
This is our journey through life and love.

New year, new try
I have neglected this baby for like 3 months now and it is way over due for a full update and an attempt to get back in the swing of doing it! Hopefully...
There has been so much that has happened since October which makes it even worse that it has been so long. I am sure I am going to miss some of the smaller dinners out and that sort of thing because for a little time we were terrible at tagging into places but here goes a good try:
October 18th: Community day in Lowell
It's kind of a BBQ meets little fair and game day. We spent a few hours there wandering around, I met some of his people and heard stories from him about when he was younger. It was such a nice day topped of with fireworks to end it.
October 26th: Pumpkin carving
We decided to start a little Halloween tradition and carve a pumpkin. This year given our obsession with the How To Train a Dragon Movies we decided to make our own Toothless pumpkin. It was adorable.
November 27th: Our first Thanksgiving
Our first Thanksgiving turned into even more than just our first Thanksgiving. After cooking a 25lb turkey and shuffling between my parents and his day we ended up taking advantage of the huge holiday sales. Although I normally don't support shopping on Thanksgiving this time was tell worth it. We picked out all of our wedding rings. He purposed to me later that night and made me feel like the luckiest person alive. I am amazed and honored to be spending the res of my life with this unbelievable man. We have already finished just about all of the wedding planning before this but it was an amazing feeling to make it formal and share that moment. I have the most beautiful ring given to me by my best friend, who could ask for anything more.
December 7th: McAdenville Christmas lights
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is looking at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve but for this mini-Christmas town US we made an exception and walked around looking at the lights early.
December 20th-21st: Christmas baking
We started one of our own Christmas traditions and picked up Christmas baking for some friends and family.
December 21st: Devaste Vineyard
We have been sitting on a groupon for wine tasting for a while and finally made it out there. Not really our type of wine but the location was beautiful and the tour was one of the better ones that we have been on. They really took you through the process of how the wine is made.
December 24th: Christmas Eve
He indulged me in my family's Christmas Eve traditions so we all opened one Christmas gift and drove around looking at Christmas lights.
December 25th: Double Duty
Not only is Christmas my absolute favorite holiday but now it is double duty because it is Brandon's birthday. So we made sure to have some birthday gifts for him here and instead of doing our normal pies for dessert I made him a cheesecake. Sadly with most everything being closed we aren't able to do too much on the day. But it was his first birthday together, the first of many
December 27th: Hornets and Whiskey
His main Christmas gift from me was tickets to the Hornets game, I think it was our first day when he said since they went back to the hornets he would want to see them play. So for his birthday dinner we went to Whiskey River in Charlotte who happened to be doing a game day special. The Hornets ended up losing but it was our first major league basketball game together (and mine ever).
December 31st: New Year's Eve
We really didn't end up doing much. a friend a future bridesmaid had a little part at her house, we stayed for a couple hours then came home to sleep. As you can tell we are a partying bunch. But wouldn't you know it..when we woke up it was the new year after all!
January 3rd: Belmont
We had a mini date day which was great. We went to the Belmont Soda shop and wandered around looking in the shops downtown. The Soda shop was absolutely adorable with the feel of an old soda jerk shop and great food, it couldn't be beat and a place we definitely plan to visit again.
January 4th: Hockey
First Christmas his dad got the guys and their s/o tickets to the Bruins vs the Hurricanes out in Raleigh so we spent the day out there. We grabbed lunch before hand because we were not about spending a ton of money out there. But we stopped at somewhere he doesn't get to go often, Denny's. It was a nice way to break up the drive.
January 15th-18th: East-bound and down
We spent the weekend in one of my favorite states Tennessee. We went out for the Hunting Party Tour to see our second Linkin Park concert. This time they played with Mice & Men and Rise Against. The trip wasn't off to a great start as I ended up getting food poisoning but it still ended just fine. I could not be more appreciative for how attentive and caring he was the whole time! The oncert was pretty good I think Carnivores Tour was a little better though! We also made several stops at the Donut Den, Castrillo's Pizza and The WKND for mas amounts of food; and we learned to travel in style with Uber Black. Nothing like getting dropped off in a Chrysler 300 with black out windows to make people wonder who the hell you are.

At length:
It has been some time since the last update and we have done quite a bit so hopefully I won't miss much.
We will start with the most recent and work back:
October 11th:
We spent most of our Saturday at the Nissan dealership but it was well worth it when Brandon was able to walk away with a 4 door, 4 wheel drive Frontier. A needed space upgrade and something that will work well with us for our future. Couldn't be happier for the deal we made or for him being able to get the truck that he wanted. Which was followed by inhaling lunch at Five Guys, always delicious.
October 4th:
No..no no no no no! Annabelle! We went to the theater to watch Annabelle the opening weekend. The freaking doll creeps me out! But it really was a good movie and not overall scary. They did a better job than most to work in a back story after the movie is already out. Definitely worth a watch.
September 28th:
We took a weekend trip to the Dirty South: Atlanta! and spent Sunday going to quite a few of the walking dead locations around GA. It was Amazing! So much fun to visit all those places together and made us want to go back to Atlanta again. Of course I will have to do a photo dumb after this but we were able to go to a good amount of places from the first couple of seasons, and we were even able to tour one of the more popular ones. Then we were able to spend most of our afternoon in Woodbury! the place I was the most excited to visit was actually an adorable little town. My god it was so cute.
September 27th:
Was our first day in Atlanta after our drive we went to the aquarium and the world of coke, this was our tourist day. The aquarium was by far better than any of the ones I have been to in the past. It was huge and had so much to see, including two...TWO kinds of otters. He indulged me to act like a 4 year old and stare at them for a good amount of time. After that it was a quick walk over to the world of coke. It had some goods points and we were able to try some coke products from around the world. Some good some awful! That killed most of our day so we checked in to our hotel then headed out to a nice dinner at Red & Green Brazilian Steak House: another rodizio style restaurant.
September 17th:
My car was a mess and I was pretty much forced to get a new one. Sadly this isn't something that we were able to do together but it still worked out and I ended up with a new Rouge.
September 13th:
Our 6 month anniversary was spent at a lovely restaurant in Charlotte, LuLu's House. We were able to find a living social deal for this which worked out very nicely. We shared a cheese place and both learned that we. do. not. like. blue cheese. Bleh. But that was quickly followed by a couple of amazing steaks and an unbelievable chocolate mousse dessert. Good food, good company, and an great occasion. I wouldn't have asked for anything more.
Our 7 month anniversary is actually tomorrow, hard to believe that 7 months have passed by this quickly. There is no one I would have rather spent it with and no one I could imagine spending the rest of my life with.

The end of summer is coming! a quick update
About time in my opinion but that did lead us to the End of Summer Weenie Roast [September 6th]
Brandon's dad wanted to go to a concert for his birthday so we ended up getting tickets for the weenie roast. 92 degrees out and sunny with the smell of burned hippie ass in the wind.I can't say this seems quite like our venue but when in Rome. It started out like a bit of a mess because they had two stages going the entire time which we weren't expecting so we ended up missing one of the bands that we did want to see. But we still caught some good acts. The good ones were Fuel, Fitz and the Tantrums and Weezer. Foster the people played as well which I suppose they did well just wasn't a big fan. We both had some grumpy attitudes but I would chalk that up to heat and hippie ass. Can't say it lived up to the thrill of Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars but everyone did have a good time and his Dad enjoyed it which was the most important thing. It was nice to be able to do that for him.
Aside from that we haven't done too much, he has been kind enough to start teaching me to drive manual since it is something I have never done. We are working through that slowly since I am a terrible student but he has been very patient and kind with me in the learning process. We ended up having the cops called on on because we are clearly very suspicious people. Luckily nothing came from it when the cop found out that was all we were doing.
We have been catching on up The Walking Dead in preparation for our trip to Atlanta in November, seen a couple of movies but that's about it. This weekend we have a little more planned since we are celebrating out 6 month anniversary :) something wonderful. I have been lucky enough to have this wonderful guy in my life for 6 months so far and it is still only the beginning. But I guess you will just have to stay tuned for the rest.

Fuffies and concerts and knights, oh my!
Well it seems again I have let this slip behind, partially because of terrible internet and partially because of laziness. We haven't done too much since the last update but the things we did were fairly large so it is well beyond time for an update:
Monday August 11th:
Fluffy! Fluffy! Fluffy! I hope someone understands that.. In any case we finally made it to see The Fluffy movie, something we were freaking out about as soon as we heard about it. After a few issues actually trying to get into the theater since it was a late night showing we did make it in. The movie was fantastic and hilarious. Exactly what you would except from Fluffy. We have been fans of his for a while so it was nice to be able to finally catch the movie, pretty sure it was the last showing in the area at least. Nothing like a completely empty movie theater to be able to joke around and laugh as loud and as much as you want. Hopefully one day we will actually be able to watch him in person, a girl can dream.
Tuesday August 13th:
The big event if you will. This was the day 5 months in the making. We went to the Carnivores Tour, with AFI, 30 Seconds to Mars and Linkin Park. Brandon has wanted to see Linkin Park live for a long time so we made an event out of it. Luckily he already booked the time off from his old job, and I wasn't starting my new one yet so it worked out nicely. We reserved a hotel room down in Charlotte and to save us from having to deal with the hassle of driving in Charlotte and parking at the concert (plus a little extra luxury) we used Lyft to drive to and from the concert. The concert was absolutely amazing. I've never been to a show like that and couldn't have asked for anything better. 30 Seconds to Mars spent most of their set in the audience, at one point Leto was only a handful of row in front of us. But the big deal was obviously Linkin Park: Wow just wow. They put on an unbelievable show. High energy the crow was loving it jumping and singing along fantastic at every step. This concert brought me around to the other side of understanding the great appeal of concerts. Even with a couple of issues along the way the night couldn't be ruined. It was great to be able to make one of Brandon's smaller wishes come true and I would never have had that experience if we weren't together. That adventure set the bar for our future concerts pretty high, we'll have to see if Atlanta can live up to it.
Wednesday August 14th:
We wanted to do a little something to celebrate both of our new job and our anniversary was the next day so we ate out at a nice restaurant. Brandon has wanted to try a Rodizzio style restaurant since he heard about one from his brother. Well a groupon for one just happened to pop up for one at the perfect time. Oh my god, meat. The whole thing is one giant all you can eat meat-fest. All of them were delicious, well cooked and high quality. We stuffed ourselves for probably over an hour on different meats, I don't believe either of us tried the same thing twice. Plus they were still bring out other things as we were waiting and leaving. Expensive but a nice treat.
Sunday August 16th:
An unexpected opportunity presented itself on the way back to my house. Our downtown does a salute to soldiers event, well Sunday was the classic car show and parade. We had no idea about it until actually driving through the downtown area. There were a couple hundred classic cars in our little downtown. We called my dad who met us up there and spent a good 3 hours walking around. Even if that wasn't enough there were more cars constantly streaming in even as we were leaving. Pretty cool to see that man cars in this little town, not something I would have expected at all.
Sunday August 24th:
Months ago Brandon ordered tickets for the CLT Knights game and it was finally the day. We were worried about how the weather would turn out since it was supposed to be raining most of the day but luckily for us all it did was cover the area in a blanket of clouds. It worked out nicely since that way it wasn't sweltering hot like it has been. The game was a different experience from the Crawdad's game that was have been going to since these guys seemed to actually know what they were doing and didn't spend half the time dropping the ball. The home team won in extra innings, which was really a win-win situation for me since he was kind enough to get us tickets to a game where they were playing the O's affiliates (so sweet). Havent seen many game so into extra innings so that was a great for me as well. We ended up with some good picture to document our adventures together. And actually when we were walking around, he stopped for a minute, but I ended up being fairly close to a foul ball. Not close enough to catch but it was still neat to see. Maybe next time.
We haven't been as active on adventures as we normally are as we are both settling into the new jobs so there has been a lot of lazy time. A few meals out with great company and conversation, some not so nice meals out that we are still dealing with. Sadly we have gotten out of our habit of cooking together so we are going to be working on that this week sometime. Plus we are planning some adventures that are later in the near future. I will have to do the pictures from the concert, car show and baseball game when I am back on my own computer.

Where has my head been
I suppose we haven't had too many outward adventures lately but there have been big things happening.
As per the last post we did go to the Delmarva vs Hickory game. Wouldn't you know it there were a few large pockets of O's fans around the stadium, it was awesome. Maybe they weren't the most exuberant fans but they were there. We did have an issue at the game which I am still trying to get over but I still feel petty about. It was a promotion night which we were unable to get. We were there early but they weren't set up in time. No big deal but when I asked about it their reps acted shady and lied about it. So wasn't thrilled with how it was handled, I would have appreciated an honest own up. But there isn't much to do in this town and I promised to take my Dad to another game since he was unable to make it to this one.But the larger shock was the fact that Hickory actually won the game. This is practically unheard of. Knew it would happen the one time that we weren't rooting for them.
Since then it has mostly been staying in and some more cooking. Times have called for being lazy and we have both also been dealing with allergies/illness lately so that does take a lot out of you. But we have made more plans for later on, a couple of concerts and some celebrations. Celebrating what you ask?
I have been out of work for a few months now and been going bat shit crazy about not working, economic times are tough and the job market in my field is hit and miss so it has been difficult. Well I did find what looks like a fantastic job with a wonderful boss.Of course you never really know until things start up but it is an opportunity to get back to work and move forward. I was offered a position and should start in the next week or so.
However I'm not the only one with big news, this week he also was offered a new job. Unfortunately we will be working conflicting hours so I handled it like tool and ended up being weepy about it. We have been spoiled early on being able to talk through most of the day and then for a while in the evenings before bed. So I felt super selfish about the time we will lose, and whenever there is feeling selfish, guilt will soon follow. But I am lucky enough to have someone that is able to keep me grounded and remind me what a wonderful guy he is and that we will just do what we can to make it work. This is a great chance for him to start somewhere new. There have been things going on at his current job that haven't been so wonderful. Plus he will now have a set schedule, working less hour, and better pay. That's what all new jobs should be able to offer! Very proud of him for taking this chance.
We originally planned to celebrate my job and illness got in the way of that so we are going to celebrate both accomplishments this coming weekend. We have planned a nice dinner at one of those Brazilian Rodizio style restaurants. He mentioned a while back wanting to go to a different one but we found a groupon for a similar style. So we jumped on it and hopefully it will be fantastic. Can't say either of us have been to this sort of thing so it will be a new experience for both of us.
